Yandang Road has a history of 60 years. On both ends of the street are French-style architectures with unique flavor. It extends 350-m from Huaihai Road, Middle, to the northern gate of Fuxing Park and 250-m from the northern gate to the southern gate of the park, with a total length of 600-m. 

Yandang Road is a pedestrians' street offering leisurely pleasure. It lies in the middle section of the east-westward Huaihai Road, Middle, Commercial Street. The buildings are typical of the European architectural style with European artistic appeal. The entire street is designed with a spirit of humanism, catering to the people, expressing the desire and aspiration of people for the new and the extraordinary. The street offers the functions of leisurely pleasure and service, finding its expression in bars, cafes, restaurants, beauty parlors, shops and amusement establishments with different alien styles and flavor. In the beautifully patterned street are found open- air orchestras, paintings and boulevard cafes.
