Liuhai Water System in Xicheng District is the biggest water area in Beijing, so ancient bridges in Xicheng District is the most in Beijing.
There are 9 famous ancient bridges that are still in use in Beijing now. 5 of them are Jinshui Bridge in front of Tian'anmen, the others are within the boundary of Xicheng District: 1. Beihai Bridge. 2. Houmen Bridge. 3. Yindian Bridge. Located in between the Qianhai lake and the Houhai lake (all can be called Shishahai) and established in Jin Dynasty, it is north and south trend. Railing of the bridge is of stone carving of white marble, named for similar to the silver ingot. Standing in the bridge in old days, you'll have a guide look of the beautiful scenery around. 'View Mountain From Yinding Bridge' is one of eight little scene of Yanjing. 4. Desheng Bridge.
